In this month’s blog, we’re wrapping up the final personality trait, which psychologists call Openness to Experience. This personality trait describes your cognitive style or how you think about the world around you.

Have you ever wondered why some people are more cooperative or trusting than others? The personality trait of Agreeableness helps us understand this part of our personality.

Just like extraversion and the rest of the Big Five Personality Traits, Neuroticism falls on a spectrum that ranges from low to high. Moreover, just like other personality traits, scoring too low or two high can come with some serious consequences.

It is no secret that our society loves highly conscientious people, and why wouldn’t it? The characteristics of a highly conscientious person essentially describes the ideal employee, someone who has a strong work ethic, takes pride in their work, and plans ahead.

Psychologists believe the Big Five are universal traits that can be identified within an individual and they use these traits to reveal how personality correlates to an individual’s behavior.

Although we will not be able to rid ourselves of many of these short- and long-term stressors, psychologists in the field have made great advances in developing tools that can help us manage them.
